Information
The Taillet family has been settled in Champagne for many generations. The vineyard is located in Merfy, 8 km from Reims, on the Saint-Thierry massif, in the "small" Montagne de Reims. Since 2006, Alexandre Chartogne has taken over from his parents and, in just a few years, has managed to make great progress in the domain thanks to a focus on biodynamics, working on horseback to avoid soil compaction, extensive plot selection and planting vignes franches or free vines. In the cellar, Alexandre works with oak, stainless steel, amphora, and cement barrels. The result: skilfully and carefully made champagne, rooted in its terroir. A domain that continues to progress… follow it very closely!
This cuvée is made with Chardonnay and vinified in Nomblot eggs - concrete tanks with an ovoid shape which causes the wine to move constantly. Chemin de Reims has an irresistible nose with milky, buttery and vanilla notes. The palate is rounded and generous on the attack and develops a pleasing mineral quality as it unveils its full potency.
