Information
Domaine Bastide Blanche is one of the leading Bandol wine estates. When Michel Bronzo and his father Baptistin acquired the property in 1972, it stretched over 10 hectares at the foot of the Le Castellet commune in AOC Bandol. They began work constructing a winery and undergoing a complete replanting and restructuring of the domaine, gradually extending its reach over the years. Today it covers a considerable 48 hectares of hillside vineyard. The vines have been certified organic since 2012 and winegrowning is influenced by biodynamic viticulture methods. The winemaking process is as natural as possible, using only indigenous yeasts, gentle extractions and long maceration. Maturation occurs in large containers: either vats or demi-muids. The wines produced by this domaine are some of the most expressive of this appellation and extremely well-regarded by fans of Bandol.
A blend of Clairette, Ugni Blanc, Bourboulenc and Sauvignon, this white Bandol reveals delightful notes of ripe-fruit; Bourboulenc and Sauvignon lend aromatic complexity and freshness. Cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic viticulture, all the grapes undergo skin-contact maceration for 30 hours and their malolactic fermentation is blocked to retain freshness. The wine is matured for 5 months in stainless steel or concrete vats. Enjoy as an aperitif or as an accompiment to fish.
