About the producer

Domaine Marcel Lapierre has established itself as an undisputed benchmark in Beaujolais of fine natural wine. Certified organic since 2006, the estate has taken inspiration from biodynamic methods for the past 40 years, caring for roughly 10,000 vines per hectare. The Gamay vines (the only variety on the property) cut into a goblet shape are, on average, 60 to 70 years old and are spread across 18 hectares. After being harvested by hand and rigorously sorted, the full bunches undergo natural vinification and, as is the tradition in Beaujolais, it leads onto semi-carbonic maceration. Depending on the cuvées, ageing takes place in barrels that are more than 100 years old, 228 litre barrels that are between 4 and 27 years old and fibreglass vats (for the Beaujolais Village wines). No new wood is used so that it doesn't leave an impression on the wine. If the vintage allows it, no sulphur is added during vinification.
The charming wines with crisp fruit aromas that are fresh, delicious and aerial leave you wanting more. Immediate pleasure guaranteed ... Or you could leave the wines to age for several years. The Morgons age particularly gracefully. This is one of the most legendary domains in Beaujolais and a sound investment.

About the wine

Camille is a truly enticing cuvée. The grapes undergo semi-carbonic maceration (as is tradition in the Beaujolais) in truncated conical wooden vats for nearly a month. No sulfur is used and the wine is matured for 9 months in old barrels. This resulting cuvéehas red fruit aromas and floral notes and truly comes alive when opened an hour before serving at 15°C. This Beaujolas has organic certification and can be enjoyed young or kept for a few years.
