Information
The Quinta do Ameal family estate was founded in 1710 and is located in the heart of Portugal’s Minho region, the cradle of vinho verde. Today, it is run by Pedro Araujo, an expert in the Loureiro grape variety which is main component of vinho verde. The vineyard, which spans some 12 hectares, is organically managed. Wines from this domaine have fully earned their status as some of the best white wines in the country.
This cuvée is a Loureiro single varietal produced organically on the domaine's granite soil. After whole-bunch direct pressing and low-temperature fermentation for almost two weeks, the wine is aged for 3 to 6 months in stainless steel vats. The pale hue of this wine reveals particularly floral and fruity aromas. It is simultaneously mouth-filling and crunchy on the palate. Its minerality and freshness make it a versatile accompaniment to seafood dishes.
