About the producer

Far Niente was established in 1885 by John Benson and flourished until the introduction of Prohibition in 1919. Sixty years later, in 1979, Gil Nickel acquired the vineyard and undertook extensive renovation work. The year 1982 marked the permanent revival in the fortunes of the domaine's production with its Cabernet Sauvignon harvest. Today, the domaine focuses on growing just two grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

About the wine

This cuvée is a genuine Napa Valley star, opening into rich notes of crème de cassis, incense and licorice. The tannic structure is soft, lending charm and voluptuousness to this full-bodied wine, which can be kept for at least twenty years.
