Information
Founded in 1975 by Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont, Domaine Chantal Lescure is a family domaine that now belongs to their two sons: Aymeric and Thibault Machard de Gramont. An owner harvesting 18 hectares of AOC vineyards, the Domaine Chantal Lescure extends from Chambolle-Musigny in Côte de Nuits to Meursault in Côte de Beaune. In 1996, when Chantal Lescure died, Aymeric Machard de Gramont took over the management of the domaine. The entire organisation of the domaine, and in particular how to work the vines was then re-considered. François Chavériat was hired as a cellar master and has been moving the domaine towards agrobiology since 1997. Today, the domaine is certified organic
This cuvée is produced from a small parcel of 30 ares planted with vines over 50 years old. Small wooden tronconic vats (18 hectolitres) and indigenous yeasts are used for vinification. Barrel élevage lasts between 16 and 18 months with 50-100% new casks. There is no fining or filtering. A distinguished, high quality wine with a creamy texture, velvety tannins and intense aromas of very ripe red and dark fruit.
