Information
The Guyot are one of the oldest families in Marsannay-la-Côte. Louis Guyot established the domaine at the beginning of the last century. Generations have succeeded one another and since 1990 Olivier Guyot has managed this 15-hectare vineyard which is divided between Marsannay-la-Côte and Gevrey-Chambertin. The vines are cultivated in a responsible, sustainable way and ploughing is done on horseback.
A 100% Chardonnay produced in one of the rare Burgundy appellations which produces wine in all three colours (red, rosé, white), this Marsannay is a true reflection of the "La Montagne" terroir from whence it comes. Limestone soil gives this wine from Olivier Guyot a mineral character that blends with the aromas so typical of the white wines of the Côte de Nuits. Specifically: notes of white flowers, dried fruit, and – after a few years' cellaring – honey. Its ample, generous palate lingers for some time, making it a good accompaniment for a wide range of delicate dishes such as poultry, veal, pork, Japanese cuisine and risotto, each matching the Chardonnay refinement and vivacity very well.
