Information
Damien Coquelet (like his father in law, Georges Descombes) is a big follower of winemaker Marcel Lapierre. Young Coquelot has been in the winemaking business since 2009 and ensures his wines are of good quality, naturally, by following a ‘no sulphur’ philosophy. His nine hectacre vineyard is in Morgon where the terroir is very good and four of these hectacres are situated within the famous Côte de Py. The use of soil ploughing , natural yeasts and carbonic maceration all contribute to make this wine a great success.
This Côte de Py Morgon from the Damien Coquelet domain comes from plots situated in the northern part , made up of light, sandy soils. This wine is gifted with a beautiful longevity: after a few years in the cellar it comes to life and becomes much fuller.
