Information
Located near the town of Chambéry, Domaine Louis Magnin is a small family property with eight hectares of vines. Situated in the village of Arbin, it adjoins the Bauges Massif. The Magnin family adopt a very natural approach in both the vineyard and the winery, producing clean, direct wines. It has for many years been one of Savoie's finest and most consistent properties.
This region’s emblematic grape variety, the Roussette de Savoie– or Altesse –, has been going through a renaissance of sorts these past few years. Louis Magnin craftfully encourages these grapes to express their full potential, creating wines with powerful aromas of flowers, spices and candied fruits. On the palate, the wine surprises with both its freshness and minerality. The wine is matured in oak barrels and stainless steel vats, where it goes through malolactic fermentation, thereby producing a dry white wine that can be cellared for around five years.
