Information
The origins of Château de Brézé can be traced back to the eleventh century and today it is still owned by descendents of the ancient lords of Brézé. The Renaissance style building (restored in the nineteenth century) is listed among France's historical monuments. Ten kilometres from Saumur, Château Brezé's vineyard covers 25 hectares and is planted with Chenin and Cabernet Franc. Yves and Arnaud Lambert from Domaine de Saint-Just have been running the domaine since 2009 and are now farming it organically. They now also produce wines from each parcel. These are changes which all point to great developments for the domaine which could regain its former splendour.
This cuvée comes from a plot with sandy-silty-limestone soils. It is aged in barriques of two to three wines for 12 months. It exudes floral aromas and is fresh and round on the palate. The finish is very persistent with citrus aromas. This wine goes well with coquilles Saint Jacques, fish and shellfish.
