About the producer
The Thanisch family boasts a long winemaking pedigree. It acquired the iconic Berncasteler Doctor vineyard in 1882, which is possibly one of the most coveted domaines in Germany today. Old vintages are sought-after worldwide. In 1986, a Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese 1921 went under the hammer for 11,200 Deutschmarks (approximately 15,000 euros today).
About the wine
QbA is a good introduction to wines from this excellent German vineyard and can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with simple dishes. To appreciate its mineral and fresh fruit notes, drink it when it is young and fruity.
