Information
Château Paloumey has belonged to Martine Cazeneuve and the François Charles Oberthur firm since 1990. Situated in the Haut-Médoc, its soil is made up of gravel and the vines span more than 34 hectares. Although classed as a Cru Bourgeois in 1932, the Château had gradually fallen into disrepair; the vines were thus replanted, and the winery rebuilt. Today, we can see that this significant challenge was brilliantly met: the wines are sought after for their elegance and their finesse.
This wine from Château Paloumey will seduce you with its complex bouquet of fruits and spices. The mouth is fleshy, balanced, fruity and fresh with good length and an ample feel. Enjoy with meat dishes. As for the winemaking, the grapes are handpicked (unless the parcel permits the use of a machine) and sorted before undergoing parcel by parcel vinifications in thermoregulated vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barriques (30% new). Elevage lasts one year in barriques with a third new French oak.
