Information
Domaine Sainte Barbe, located in Viré, was created in 1967 by Josette and Jean-Noël Chaland, when the vineyard came out of the cooperative system. The vineyard extends over 9 hectares; it has been worked naturally (ploughed, no herbicides ...) for many years and certified for organic farming since 2003. Just under a hectare of old vines of Gamay in Mâcon-Burgy appellation is added to the majority of Chardonnay. Over half the vines are over 50 years old. The wines of this domaine show great finesse and are particularly fruity, with a very good quality / price ratio.
Mâcon Les Tilles comes from a parcel only half a hectare in size, where the vines are approximately forty years old. This cuvée is a pleasurable wine which is easy to drink. On the nose it presents intense aromas of citrus fruit and passion fruit. On the palate it is finely-balanced, well-rounded and fresh. This is perfect wine to drink before a meal and with seafood based dishes.
