About the producer

Bodegas Alvear produces a very extensive range of vins doux naturels (naturally sweet wines) perpetuating a wine-making tradition which goes back almost three centuries. Located close to Cordova, it is the oldest bodega in Andalusia. Its artisanal expertise places it in the forefront of domaines both in Spain and internationally.

About the wine

Pedro Ximénez is the king of grape varieties in the Montilla-Moriles appellation. It is very rich in natural sugars, which is essential for achieving an alcohol content of 15% and the wine has an unparalleled aromatic intensity. The grapes are left to dry on the vine, in the sun, and the wine is matured for five years in American oak casks.
