Information
Bodegas Toro Albala was established in 1844 in Aguilar de la Frontera, 50 kilometres from Cordova, by Antonio Sánchez Prieto. The vineyard is now run by Antonio Sanchez Romero and the grape varieties grown include a high proportion of indigenous Pedro Ximenez. Toro Albala is divided between two main sites, one in Aguilar de la Frontera and the other in Moriles. Wine from this reference domaine for the region is exported to all four corners of the globe.
In more advanced years, this wine offers up beautiful dried fruit aromas, and chocolate, roast coffee and balsamic notes. The refined palate is highly complex, beautifully mellow and nicely balanced, avoiding excessive sweetness. The best way to appreciate this wine is to drink it on its own, at the end of the meal, as if it were a desert. However, it can also be paired with blue cheeses or foie gras.
