Domaine des Varoilles is a historical testimony in itself. Documents are found there that are among the oldest in Burgundy, because some climats were planted there before the 12th century. Domaine des Varoilles has 10 hectares of vineyards spread over climats such as La Romanée and Clos de Vougeot. The viticulture is sustainable there, and the annual replacement of the dead stock makes it possible to preserve the high age of the vines (sixty years old for the Romanée). Their roots descend 5 to 6 metres deep, thus enriching the trace elements of the soil. The yield is limited to 35 hl / ha, and the élevage of the wines lasts 12 to 24 months, in oak barrels which are partially renewed every year. The wines produced are delicate and reveal their full potential after 3 to 10 years.

This Charmes-Chambertin presents gorgeous floral aromas (peonies and rose) with red fruit aromas too. On the palate it is both full-bodied and fleshy, delicate with silky tannins and pleasant freshness.
