Information
About the producer

Owned by Alain Vauthier (château Ausone), Château de Fonbel spreads over 16 hectares in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, on gravelly, clay and sandy soils. The vines are composed of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Carmenere. The wines of the domain testify of a very regular quality and are appreciated by amateurs.

About the wine

The Château de Fontbel wine is aged for 12 months in barrels (30% new oak). The bouquet delivers beautiful aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry and raspberry. The palate is harmonious and flamboyant with its beautiful juice and its long finish. This wine pairs nicely with red meats and certain game.
