Information
It was the great-grandfather of the current wine grower Stéphane Magnien who founded the family domaine. The small (4.5 hectares) vineyard is located in the heart of the village of Morey Saint Denis. For four generations, the vines have been carefully worked, with ploughing and without any weed control, the aim being to maximise the expression of terroirs. The élevage lasts 14 to 24 months in oak barrels and the wines are neither glued nor filtered. Stéphane Magnien’s wines are very classical, refined and delicate.
Morey's Cuvée Aux Petites Noix comes from three different Premier Cru parcels - Clos Baulet, Les Gruenchers and Monts Luisants. On the nose it presents wonderful aromas of red and black fruit (cherries and blackcurrants) with slightly spicy notes. Its great finesse, pleasant acidity and fruity and floral flavours are what characterise it on the palate and its tannins are beautifully poised. This wine may be drunk fairly quickly and goes well, for example, with red meat.
