Information
Domaine Tortochot is a family domain located in Gevrey. A lover of Burgundy wine, Gabriel Tortochot ardently defends the region, especially given his role as the president of Gevrey-Chambertin's viticultural union. He passed down this passion to his two daughters, Brigitte and Chantal. At the age of 35, Chantal decided to take over the family business. Having qualified as an enological technician, she now produces wines that reflect their terroir thanks to careful viticulture.
Nestled on the famed Côte Saint-Jacques, this premier cru is undeniably one of the region’s finest. Packed with an impressive bouquet and benefiting from the cool freshness of the Combe, it delivers a remarkable structure on the palate.
Domaine Tortochot has mastered the art of producing wines that truly represent the essence of this commune, combining density, freshness, a hint of spice, and a deliciously warm finish with a touch of gingerbread. Oak ageing might leave a subtle imprint on wine in the early stages, but don’t worry! As with most Tortochot wines, if you’re opening it young, it’s recommended to let it breathe for a few hours or decant it for a smoother taste experience. For those of you with a little more patience, you’ll be richly rewarded after a few years of ageing, when its finesse really shines through. This wine is the perfect match for bold dishes, so why not try it with game? Trust us, you won’t regret it!
