Information
Thibault Liger-Belair took over the family domaine of Nuits-Saint-Georges in 2002, giving it its name. The domaine has been in the family since the 18th century and the trading establishments C. Marey and Comte Liger-Belair have been in existence since 1720. The vineyard spreads over a little over 7 hectares in Richebourg, Vosne-Romanée, Clos-de- Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Gevrey-Chambertin. The greatest care is taken of the vines which are worked organically. The wines have already reached a good standard and are one of the rising values of the region, offering wines which combine fine substance and finesse.
Richebourg is made from vines planted in 1936; this is a deep, refined wine and quite exceptional. It presents aromas of black fruit and soft red fruit, notes of spices, violets and the undergrowth. It is immediately extremely elegant on the palate with fine, softened tannins, freshness and aromas of coffee and acidic red fruit; it has impressive length. A truly top cuvée with great aging potential, which could accompany poultry or veal beautifully.
