Information
The story of the domain began in 1970, when Jean-Jacques Mélinand bought 4 hectares of vines from Clos du Pavillon in Fleurie. The property continued to grow, and soon the vats were too small for the amount of grapes produced. The domain now covers five appellations: Fleurie, Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages, Chiroubles and Morgon. The domain has been managed by Jean-Jacques’ son Matthieu since 2009.
This wine comes from vines planted on pink granite soils. Grapes are hand harvested before undergoing semi-carbonic maceration with a small amount of racking and a slow pressing. Raised for 12 months in oak fûts, the wine is neither filtered nor fined. The result: beautiful freshness, a nose that reveals aromas of red fruits and racy tannins. Enjoy 5 or 6 years after the vintage.
