Information
Olivier and Corinne Merlin took over the Domaine du Vieux Saint-Sorlin a la Roche-Vineuse in 1987, renaming it. They gradually enlarged the vineyard which today has 10 hectares on many appellations such as Pouilly Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Viré-Clessé. In the vineyards, the work is done following the rules of organic farming (without certification), with the use of ploughing and uncultivated land for certain parcels. Both the red and white wines of this domaine are of a very high quality.
Saint-Véran is élevaged in oak barrels for 10 months. Its nose primarily expresses aromas of white flowers, with some buttery notes. On the palate, the flavours mainly suggest citrus (lemon) and yellow fruits; there is an attractive tension, richness and freshness. This elegant wine is distinguished by beautiful length in the mouth.
