Information
Domaine de le Grand’Cor is owned by the Dutraive family. Their Gamay is produced under the Fleurie and the Brouilly appellations. The domain covers 11.7 hectacres and has held organic certification since 2009. Jean-Louis Dutraive does everything he can to allow the terroir be reflected in his wines. He vinifies without the use of sulfites and at low temperatures. He also uses natural yeasts and carbonic maceration. His wines are natural and are neither filtered nor clarified. It is a domain that has now established itself amongst the best that Beaujolais has to offer.
Le Clos Veilles Vignes is a very accomplished wine, matured for a third of its time in oak barrels, a third in stainless steel and a third in oak casks. Ripe ruit aromas and floral notes develop on the nose. On the palate the initial taste is delicate but then reveals a tannic structure, spiced notes with a good finish.
