Information
Located between Uzès and Sommières, surrounded by scrubland, Mas d'Espanet has been run by Denys and Agnès Armand since 1980. The abandoned domain needed considerable work to maintain the old vines, producing local red varietals and plantations of white grapes chosen for their emotional appeal – and for the terroir, of course. In 1999, a winery was built for vinifying the grapes from this 20-hectare vineyard, which is both organically and biodynamically certified.
Made from equal parts of Viognier and Sauvignon, the wine has been created by vinification in vats on lees with bâtonnage and 6 months' aging in the vat. Its light golden hue exhales notes of honeysuckle, mineral and fruitiness. Its finesse and indulgence make it the perfect wine to enjoy with grilled fish.
