Porto Gould Campbell Vintage
Information
About the producer

Gould Campbell was established in 1797, when Garret Gould fled political upheaval in his native Ireland and began to do business in Lisbon and Porto. In 1970, the company was acquired by the Symington family, which had been producing port since the 19th century. Gould Campbell is low-profile member of Symington’s eight port portfolio, but is nevertheless a house renowned for its excellent bottles.

About the wine

The grapes come from vineyards located in the Alto Douro, where yields are very low. Here, port wine is still produced in the traditional way: the grapes are trodden by foot in stone containers called "lagares", in small quintas located at the top of the hills surrounding Pinhão. The result is impressive and full, affording rich sensations.
