Information
Have you already heard the name ‘Drouhin' somewhere? Domaine Drouhin-Vaudon is indeed the Chablis branch of the famous family domain Joseph Drouhin. Little known, it nonetheless takes up half of the property's total surface area at no less than 20 hectares. This separate entity is managed by the passionate Fabien Fayette. From petit Chablis to grands crus, we find the same, elegant fingerprint in all of the wines crafted here. Critics are full of praise for the domain's finest cuvées, counting the Preuses grand cru and the Vaudésir, lauding their depth and their potential for evolution. As for the viticulture, the domain converted to organic growing some time ago before developing biodynamic methods in 1998. This is, in fact, the biggest biodynamic domain in Chablis.
For over forty years, the Drouhin family has been exploiting exceptional vineyard plots in Chablis, covering grand cru (Vaudésir, Les Clos, Les Preuses and Les Bougros), premier cru and Village, giving a total area of 46 hectares. Run according to organic agriculture and biodynamic principles, the estate produces harmonious, refined wines, bottling them with the "Drouhin Vaudon" label. The Vaudésir Grand Cru has a pure, crystalline visual aspect with green hints. The nose reveals fresh aromas of fruit (lemons), white flowers and a spicy side. On the palate, the wine is extremely elegant and complex, with iodised notes and a long finish.
