Information
The story of Bodegas Juan Gil goes back to 1916, when the current owners' great-grandfather decided to start working in wines. Brothers Paco and Juan Gil – the owners today – have, over time, made a reputation for themselves as producers of high-quality wines with great respect for traditions. Their domain is located around 10km from the town, at the lieu-dit “Término de Arriba” in Aragon, a viticultural region whose history dates back for centuries.
This wine is made from an old parcel of over 40 years old Mourvedre vines (known locally as Monastrell) on a limestone soil and an arid climate. Grapes macerate ¿sur lies¿ for 25 days before being pressed and undergoing 12 month of ageing in French oak barrels. A powerful wine with red fruits and smoky notes, a silky texture and a long finish.
