Gattinara Nervi DOCG Molsino
Information
About the producer

Nervi is the oldest working domaine in Gattinara, a village in the northern Piedmont. The volcanic soil gives the Nebbiolo grapes (known locally as “spanna”) an outstanding subtlety. The aromas of the wine reap the benefit of the temperate climate in these beautiful hills which are sheltered from the north winds by the Monte Rose massif and protected from the summer heat by their good height above sea level. While it is not among the big-hitters Nervi, probably produces some of the finest wines in Italy from its 24 hectares of vines.

About the wine

Cuvée Molsino is produced from vines located between 340 and 425 metres above sea level. The wine is aged in large oak barrels for at least 50 months. It has a very subtle sanguineous, peppery nose. It is delicate and fine on the palate, veering towards bark notes, and reveals subtle, fresh tannins. An extremely elegant wine. Excellent.
