Information
The domaine Souch, situated in the village of Laroin, 6km from Pau, has been run by Yvonne Hégoburu and her son Jean-René since 1987. The vineyard, at 300 meters of altitude, is certified organic and cultivated using biodynamic methods. Yields are strictly controlled in order to produce particularly elegant and characterful wines of excellent quality.
This sweet Jurançon is a deliciously enjoyable wine, ideal both for drinking now or cellaring. It serves as an especially great pairing to foie gras or chicken in cream sauce. The nose is typical of Gros Manseng: floral and exotic fruit (mango, pineapple) notes mingle together. On the palate, this cuvée is at once rich, full-bodied and fresh, with a lovely, long finish. A blend of equal parts Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng, whose vines are grown on a soil of silica and clay which is specific to this domain’s terroir. These two elements form Jurançon puddingstones. The grapes are harvested by hand, with successive selections, before undergoing vinification in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats.
