Information
Philippe and Stéphanie (brother and sister) are the fifth generation to manage this domain which was created in 1889. Planted predominantly with Cabernet Franc (85%), the vines are grown with environmentally friendly and sustainable practices and there is grass cover in some of the rows. In the winery, grapes grown on gravelly soil are vinified in stainless steel vats to retain their fruitiness while grapes grown on chalky clay soil are vinified in wooden tronconic barrels to improve their longevity. This property is one of the appellation’s best names and is especially known for wines with a good ageing potential.
Vinified in wooden vats with pigeage and stirring, this wine exudes aromas of very ripe fruit (blackcurrant, strawberry), almost like a compote, as well as notes of sous-bois; on the palate it gives a fine, round and silky substance and a fine, long finish.
