Information
La Cascina Corte is located in the San Luigi hills in the Langhe region. The current owner acquired the domaine in 2001. After carrying out extensive renovations, it now produces very well-made wines which are a faithful reflection of the organically managed terroir.
This Langhe consists of Nebbiolo grapes harvested in late September and early October. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel tanks, and the wine is matured in large casks for 24 months. The wine is then refined for 2 months prior to its sale. It reveals an attractive garnet-red colour, and an intense fragrance consisting of fruity, floral, very slightly herby notes. The tannins are powerful, and form part of what is a direct, racy wine overall. This is a wine which will benefit from ten or so years' keeping and decanting into a carafe before serving.
