Information
Agnès and Alain Carrère are the owners of this vineyard, located within the confines of the Agly valley. The domain is supervised by Thomas Lubbe, who also owns the Domaine de Matassa. The vineyards were switched to organic cultivation in 2007.
The grapes harvested for this cuvée were grown on old vines, some of which are 120 years old! The wines have a ruby-coloured appearance; their bouquet develops aromas of blackberries and morello cherries, while the palate offers fruit, minerality and mellow tannins.
This white wine is a blend of Maccabeu, Rolle and Carignan blanc produced from 30-year-old vines cultivated on clay-limestone hillsides. The grapes undergo vinification without wood, fermenting with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is matured on fine lees in order to develop further aromas and depth. Its brilliant, limpid robe exhales fruity and floral aromas. On the palate, this cuvée is fresh, aromatic and mineral. Its finesse and length make for wonderful food pairings with fish, sea food or white meat.
