Information
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was created in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Their son, Georges Mugneret, took over the domaine and expanded it. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, the daughters of Georges and Jacqueline, now run it. The vineyards are distributed over the appellations of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Clos Vougeot. The wines of this domaine have a very classic style and its quality has improved a lot in recent years. The cuvées can be presented under two labels, Georges Mugneret and Mugneret-Gibourg.
This Vosne-Romanée comes from five clay and limestone soil plots. The nose is neat, with red berry aromas (cherry, morello cherry, redcurrant), spicy notes and violet. The palate is characterised by its enormous refinement, delicacy and indulgent juiciness, pleasant freshness and well-integrated tannins. This attractive wine will make a great accompaniment for game bird dishes.
