Information
Bruno Clair is the grandson of Joseph Clair (from Domaine Clair Daü). He founded his own domain in 1979 in Marsannay before later inheriting some of the parcels from his grandfather's domain. The estate is thus made up of myriad, high-quality parcels, notably in Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis where some of the appellation's most prized vines are grown, both in red and white. Bruno Clair also cares for vineyards in Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton, and Fixin.
Excellent maturation and precise vinifications help to best express these magnificent terroirs. The wines made here are very precise and fine, with no lack of elegance or intensity.
This range is broad and varied; the rosé and Bourgogne blanc cuvées will go nicely at an aperitif, whilst the grands and premiers crus can be served with your very best recipes after a few years in the cellar.
This cuvée comes from a vineyard parcel of just over one hectare and is produced from some of the domaine's oldest vines (the longest lived ones are more than 70 years old). Its nose releases powerful aromas of red fruit (strawberry, raspberry, cherry). On drinking this is a flavoursome and fresh wine with both finesse and power, and a nice length. This wine is worth ageing in the cellar for a few years.
