Information
Founded by Claude Bertagna in the 1950s, Domaine Bertagna has belonged to the Günther Reh family for over thirty years, and over the last few years has enjoyed significant investment designed to modernise it, pushed forward by its current manager Eva Reh-Siddle. As a result, it now features among some of Burgundy's most renowned domains.
On this plot, the Pinot Noir grapes flourish thanks to an ideal terroir and a viticulture that is respectful of the surrounding environment. It ferments for 15-21 days then matures for 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new wood). Its ruby colour is accompanied by an incredibly intense nose of mature, red fruits. The palate is velvety and mellow with floral aromas. It is wonderfully balanced with tannins that round off in time to offer a wine that is refined with a persistent, mineral finish. Whilst it can be enjoyed young, it will reward ageing for a little while in your cellar.
