Information
Domaine Marcel Lapierre has established itself as an undisputed benchmark in Beaujolais of fine natural wine. Certified organic since 2006, the estate has taken inspiration from biodynamic methods for the past 40 years, caring for roughly 10,000 vines per hectare. The Gamay vines (the only variety on the property) cut into a goblet shape are, on average, 60 to 70 years old and are spread across 18 hectares. After being harvested by hand and rigorously sorted, the full bunches undergo natural vinification and, as is the tradition in Beaujolais, it leads onto semi-carbonic maceration. Depending on the cuvées, ageing takes place in barrels that are more than 100 years old, 228 litre barrels that are between 4 and 27 years old and fibreglass vats (for the Beaujolais Village wines). No new wood is used so that it doesn't leave an impression on the wine. If the vintage allows it, no sulphur is added during vinification.
The charming wines with crisp fruit aromas that are fresh, delicious and aerial leave you wanting more. Immediate pleasure guaranteed ... Or you could leave the wines to age for several years. The Morgons age particularly gracefully. This is one of the most legendary domains in Beaujolais and a sound investment.
This Morgon is a blend of several terroirs in the appellation, on poor, acid soil which results in wines with notes of violets and black cherries. The type of Morgon that is so easy and delicious to drink! Enjoy three to eight years after the vintage.
