Information
In the very east of the Loire, nestled between meadows and hills, domain Pellé makes wines in the Menetou-Salon appellation. Created in 1959, it lies on terroirs of marl, clay and Kimmeridgian limestone. The domain farms its vines sustainably, tilling the soils and keeping its yields low. Exemplary wines with impressive minerality.
This Menetou-Salon is produced from old Sauvignon vines grown on marl, clay and limestone soil. In order to preserve the freshness of the fruit, it is aged predominantly in stainless steel vats then in 400-litre barrels on fine lees for 8 months. The wine therefore has an aromatic bouquet which is imbued with citrus and mineral notes. Ageing on the lees gives it a pleasing roundness which mellows its vegetal tinge. This is a perfect wine to accompany subtle, delicate dishes.
