Information
Stéphane Cossais passed away in 2009; his first vintage was in 2001. His three-hectare domain is planted with Chenin. Vinifications and élevage are carried out in barrels. His domain covers three hectares of traditionally cultivated vines. He studied at Clos Rougeard and produced fine, terroir-driven Montlouis wines.
Volagré comes from a parcel of organically-cultivated vines and is aged in used demi-muids. On the nose, aromas of ripe apple emerge, becoming more earthy with aeration; the bouquet strikes a perfect balance between ripe fruit and freshness. Tasting reveals an uncanny balance of tension and fatness, culminating in a long, persistent finish with well-integrated woody aromas.
