Information
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot located in Vosne-Romanée, was created by Jack Confuron in 1964. Today it is managed by his sons, Jean-Pierre and Yves, both enologists. The vineyard extends over 11 hectares in Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The winemaking is done with entire bunches of grapes, harvested to perfect maturity, producing absolutely remarkable Burgundy wines, which are very fine, frank and complex. The grapes are harvested when very ripe but the wines are always perfectly balanced. The domaine is at the top of the Côte de Nuits.
Manual harvests are followed by a fermentation in vats and a long fermentation period in oak barrels. The resulting wine has a ruby colour with touches of purple. The nose reveals notes of ripe blackcurrant and raspberry as well as rose. Over time, it will become full-bodied with notes leaning more towards cherry. Its powerful and structured texture will need some years in the cellar to allow the tannins to soften. It has a beautiful, long finish!
