Information
Jacques Seysses created Domaine Dujac in 1968 by purchasing 4.5 hectares. He is also associated with Aubert de Villaine in the Var (Triennes). Today Jacques's children are the directors of the Domaine Dujac, Jeremy, his wife Diana (an American enologist) and Alec Seysses. The domaine, certified in organic farming, extends over 15 hectares in the largest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits and especially Morey-Saint-Denis. The domaine's wines have excellent aging potential and are characterised by great complexity and delicacy.
Chambertin is the most famous of Gevrey-Chambertin's grand crus, and one of the most highly reputed in Burgundy. Domaine Dujac blends plots of Chambertin and Clos de Bèze, and is therefore required to use the Chambertin label. It is a wine of immense sophistication; clean and elegant. With its great concentration, it will require time to reveal itself, especially in its great vintages. These are the domaine's greatest wines.
