Château La Marzelle Grand Cru Classé
Information
About the producer

This property can be seen on maps dating back to 1921 and was awarded Grand Cru Classé status in Saint Emilion's first classification in 1955. The property has an exceptional gravel, sand and clay terroir on Saint Emilion's upper terrace. This terroir has the same characteristics as that of Petrus, Cheval Blanc and Figeac. The Flemish Sioen family have owned this château since 1998 and have made some substantial investments. Philippe Genevey and his team improved the plot selection in an area that is sometimes limited by its sand content. They also built a showcase winery integrating the latest vinification technology. The property also now practices leaf removal and green harvests.

About the wine
