Information
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was created in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Their son, Georges Mugneret, took over the domaine and expanded it. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, the daughters of Georges and Jacqueline, now run it. The vineyards are distributed over the appellations of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Clos Vougeot. The wines of this domaine have a very classic style and its quality has improved a lot in recent years. The cuvées can be presented under two labels, Georges Mugneret and Mugneret-Gibourg.
The brilliant cherry hue of this wine presents a refined nose of fresh red fruits and forest berries. There is a soupçon of spice that underscores this lovely aromatic bouquet. Its ample palate carries silky, elegant tannins. Whilst this wine can be kept for over ten years, the more adventurous among you might try it after just five.
