Information
Albert Bichot is an illustrious maison of Burgundy. The family settled in Burgundy in 1350 but it was only in the 19th century that it became interested in the vine and vineyards. In 1831, Bernard Bichot developed a trading house in his name. Since 1996, Alberic Bichot (6th generation) has been working to raise the quality of wines produced. He acquired many plots, meaning that the maison now has 100 hectares of vineyards. Here we find the Clos Frantin on the Côte de Nuits, the Domaine du Pavillon and the Domaine Adélie on the Chalonnaise coast as well as the Domaine Long Depaquit in Chablis. These wines are certified as organic. At the same time, the maison carries out its trading business by purchasing only carefully selected grapes. The wines are all vinified in Beaune under the leadership of the very talented Alain Serveaux.
Le Chambolle Musigny Premier Cru Les Amoureuses from Domaine Albert Bichot is produced on a vineyard parcel in the centre of the Côte de Nuits region. As its name suggests, the Les Amoureuses climat produces delicate wines. This wine has been élevaged in oak barrels (50% new) for between 14 and 16 months. The nose is complex, with aromas of gariguette strawberry, gooseberry, fig and leather. It is beautifully structured, has silky tannins and is wonderfully balanced on the palate.
