Information
Members of the Sportoletti family have been farmers for generations and have always given pride of place to wine in their activities. In the late 1970s, brothers Ernesto and Remo decided to focus exclusively on growing grapes. They produced their first vintage in 1979. Since then, they have striven tirelessly to create perfectly balanced wines blending innovation with tradition. Today, their vines span 30 hectares in five different appellations. They produce approximately 200,000 bottles per year. Since 1998, the domaine has benefitted from consultancy provided by oenologist and agronomist Riccardo Cotarella.
This wine is a blend of Bordeaux varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc) which are macerated for 15 days in a thermoregulated stainless steel tank. The wine is then fermented in barrels for a year before being aged in bottles for two years. It has an intense deep red colour, with powerful notes of jammy black berries, tobacco, spices, liqueur and cocoa. The palate is lent elegance by its perfectly tannic, persistent balance.
