Information
Founded by Henri Georges at the beginning of the 20th century on 14.50 ha of vines at Nuit Saint Georges, the domain is managed today by his two great-grandsons, Grégory and Antoine. For environmental reasons, some of the vineyards have grassed alleys. Yield selection and grape sorting, followed by 18 months of maturing in oak barrels, produce wines that are characteristic of their terroir. The domain has experienced a real stylistic revolution over recent years. It used to produce the most concentrated and tannic wines from this cold and late terroir. When young, the wines could be austere, but with a huge ageing potential of over 30 years. Keeping this immense potential, they are now more focused on finesse, which is a great development for this exceptional domain.
La Perrière is located on the former stone quarry owned by the monks of Cîteaux. Domaine Henri Gouges carries on the Nuits white wine tradition. Its distinctiveness lies in the grape variety used: Pinot Blanc. Generally soft and fairly simple, this is certainly the most beautiful expression of Pinot Blanc to be found in France. It is a complete, dense wine with a cutting acidity.
