Information
Lluis Lach and Enric Costa established this domaine comprising the ancient Priorat vineyard spanning the area between Porrera and Torroja in the early 1990s. Grenache and Carignan are grown in tiny parcels located on steep hillsides known as “trossos”. The Estate has 49 hectares with a soil containing llicorella, a regional slate. The proximity of the sea and the height above sea level counterbalance the hot climate. Winters are cold and nights are cool. Grapes are harvested by hand, vinification is carried out by parcel, and only indigenous yeasts are used during ageing in French oak barrels.
Idus is blended from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Grenache grapes cultivated on stony, shallow and quartz-rich terrain. The wine is delicate and fruity in style and combines floral, fruity and mineral aromas. It makes a very nice pairing with tapas, red meat or cured, Spanish goat and sheep cheeses.
