Information
Situated in the eponymous lieu-dit to the north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine de Boislauzon is now in the masterful hands of the 5th generation of the Chaussy family. The 25 hectares are spread over the Châteauneuf-du-Pape (10 hectares over 15 parcels) and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages (15 parcels) appellations. The vines are cultivated according to sustainable agricultural practices and 2012 was the first vintage to hold organic certification. Harvests are carried out by hand before and the grapes are sorted in the vineyard. The wines are appreciated for their aromatic depth and elegance.
The brother and sister Daniel and Christine Chaussy have created a certified organic Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Unsurprisingly, the harvest is done by hand and the grapes are very carefully sorted in the vineyards. Grenache (80%) and Mourvèdre (20%) are planted on sand, clay and stony soil. They are destemmed and then vinified with native yeasts. As for the ageing, this is done in vats and barriques. Powerful, but nevertheless with great finesse, the Cuvée du Quet pairs well with red meat and chocolate.
