Information
Located in the Priorat region, the Rotllan Torra family business is distinctive because it produces quality wine in small quantities (unfortunately). Venerable vines, which are over 70 years old, roam over the 24-hectares domaine alongside younger international grape varieties which are cultivated on terraces. The business also calls on 40 local producers who ensure a supply of grapes from a further 60 hectares.
Tirant. Where did a name like that come from? An explanation: Tirant was the name of a legendary medieval warrior. And this strong and powerful wine clearly had all the attributes to deserve such a sobriquet. It is the result of a rigorous selection of Grenache, Samso, Coster and international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot. The vinification process is traditional, consisting of one year's élevage in French oak casks, giving the wine its aromas. This wine can be cellared for at least fifteen years, and should be decanted two hours before serving.
