Priorat Clos Mogador DOCA René Barbier
Information
About the producer

Vineyard owner René Barbier is originally from the Vaucluse and learned his craft in Burgundy and Bordeaux (including Petrus). He set up his own domaine, le Clos Mogador, at Gratallops in 1989. He has clearly been influential in raising the profile of this region which now boasts some of the most prestigious vineyards in Spain. At the same time, he has propelled his own domaine into the country’s major league.

About the wine

This wine is considered to be one of the jewels in Priorat’s crown and is a classic expression of the appellation. Its ruby red colour is beautifully intense, and its vibrant nose revolves around aromas of dark fruits (prune, blueberry, gooseberry) and spice, with empyreumatic notes. The palate is deep, dense and fruity, with nicely blended tannins.
