Information
Domaine Jean-Paul and Benoît Droin is owned by one of the oldest families in Chablis, who have been working the vines for nearly five centuries. In 1547, Jehan Droin was already cultivating an enclosed vineyard. Today, the domaine is managed by Jean-Paul Droin and his son Benoît; it covers 25.5 hectares, including 5 grand crus and 8 premier crus. It has risen to the top of Chablis, offering precise, generous wines with a fine mineral persistence.
Located close to the grands crus of Chablis, this premier cru is a reference point of excellence. The Chardonnay comes through to express the minerality drawn from its terroir. This feature is rounded off by floral notes and a power that makes it ideal for accompanying gastronomic dishes. In order to make this cellaring wine, the domain opted for harvests by hand, classic vinification, and maturation in vats and barrels.
